Recorded Webinar: Broaden Your Wellness Impact: Create Interprofessional Partnerships Across the Health Care Spectrum
This webinar was presented on February 27, 2023
Increases in pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes diagnoses in underserved populations have been staggering. According to the CDC, among Indigenous Americans, rates of diabetes are two to five times higher than those of whites, and Mexican Americans and Puerto Ricans are twice as likely to develop the disease than non-Hispanic whites of similar age. The CDC also says that African American adults, on average, are 1.7 times more likely to develop diabetes than whites, while most children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes are people of color.1
Join Janelle Eligon-Ketchum, RDN, CDCES, LDN, and Ayanna S. Kersey-McMullen, DO, MSPH, FAAPMR, FAOPMR, DipABLM, for an interprofessional webinar that will teach you how to make an impact in these communities by partnering with fellow health care practitioners. Engage with this dynamic duo as they discuss how clinicians can refocus their understanding and servicing of BIPOC populations and steer patients towards wellness. Through an interactive case study and peer-to-peer discussion, you will leave this webinar with tips and techniques that will help you to successfully partner with team members across the health care profession.
