Webinar: An Interprofessional Look into the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans: From Creation to Dissemination

April 1, 2025

Since 1980, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have released the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs) every five years. The DGAs provide advice on what to eat and drink to meet nutrient needs, promote health, and prevent disease. The comprehensive document is developed and written for a professional audience, including policymakers, health care providers, nutrition educators, and federal nutrition program operators.

With the development of the 2025-2030 guidelines underway, it’s important that every member of the care team have an awareness of the DGAs, understand their importance, and be able to counsel patients and clients on the DGA’s recommendations.

On Tuesday, April 1, from 2-3:15 p.m. ET, join Toby Amidor, MS, RD, CDN, FAND, for a webinar that will discuss the process involved in the creation of the DGAs, newly released insights into the selection of members of the DGAs committee (DGAC), and debunk common myths surrounding the creation process. In addition, new recommendations from the 2025-2030 DGAC report will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity, health care professionals will better be able to:

  1. Describe the evidence-based process used to create and update the Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGAs).
