Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education course, healthcare professionals should be better able to:
- Describe six factors related to food insecurity (FI) in older adults.
- Explain the nutrition and health consequences of FI in older adults.
- Elucidate eight federal food assistance programs available to older adults in need.
- Identify and assist older adults with FI in community and clinical practice settings.
- Advocate for increased food security screening of older adults and improved access to food assistance programs for those with FI.
