Microdoses of Mindfulness: Part 2: Mindfulness Momentum – Overcoming Barriers in Personal Practice

December 2, 2025

Mindfulness is a tool that can deepen our relationship with ourselves, support those we serve, and strengthen communication, collaboration, and health outcomes when it’s used within and across care teams. In Part 2 of Microdoses of Mindfulness, registered dietitian, yoga instructor, and certified mindfulness facilitator Mandy Enright, MS, RDN, RYT, will build on Part 1 by helping participants strengthen and sustain their mindfulness practice. Building a consistent practice takes more than good intentions—it requires patience, persistence, and the ability to adapt. For new practitioners, this can feel challenging.

In Part 2: Mindfulness Momentum – Overcoming Barriers in Personal Practice, the session will open with a reflective group discussion on personal experiences since the last session: What mindfulness practices were tried? What worked? What felt difficult? This supportive, non-judgmental space allows clinicians to learn from one another, normalize common obstacles, and gather new ideas for integrating mindfulness into daily life.

Join this 30-minute micro-learning session on Tuesday, December 2, from 2-2:30 p.m. ET, as Mandy introduces the evidence-based practice of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). MSC offers essential tools for navigating discomfort, strengthening emotional resilience, and reducing burnout. Participants will learn how self-compassion can be a powerful addition to any mindfulness routine, especially for professionals managing the demands of caregiving roles.

As in the previous session, we’ll conclude with guided mindfulness practices to support continued exploration. Participants will be encouraged to notice what resonates, where resistance arises, and how mindfulness might begin to show up not just personally, but professionally—both in patient care and in collaboration with care teams. Part 3 will continue this progression by focusing on applying mindfulness within clinical work.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity, health care professionals will better be able to:

  1. Analyze personal experiences and identify common challenges when practicing mindfulness and develop strategies to overcome them.
  2. Define the core components of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) and how it can support emotional resilience and sustainable self-care.
  3. Explain how mindfulness and self-compassion can enhance collaboration, communication, and empathy within inter-professional care teams.
