Microdoses of Mindfulness: Part 1: Mindfulness in Clinical Practice - Laying the Foundation
Introducing Microdoses of Mindfulness: A Professional Practice Series—a brand-new, four-part series of 30-minute webinars created to help busy clinicians incorporate mindfulness into their personal wellbeing and professional care. The full series is worth 2.0 CEUs and offers practical strategies to reduce stress, enhance communication, and improve outcomes across clinical settings. Each session is short, focused, and impactful—and just $9.99!
While each session can stand alone, the greatest benefit comes from attending all four. Together, they offer a complete pathway—from building foundational awareness to applying mindfulness in patient care and teamwork.
Read more about Part 1 below and check out Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 for information on the scope of the full series.
Mindfulness is often associated with yoga studios and meditation cushions, but this evidence-based practice has a powerful place in clinical settings. Research shows that mindfulness enhances clarity, compassion, and connection—qualities that are essential in the helping professions.1,2,3 It’s a tool that can deepen our relationship with ourselves, support those we serve, and strengthen communication, collaboration, and health outcomes when it’s used within and across care teams.
Join Mandy Enright, MS, RDN, RYT, on Thursday, September 11, from 2-2:30 p.m. ET, for Part 1 of Microdoses of Mindfulness: A Professional Practice Series. In this opening session, participants will learn what mindfulness is (and isn’t), explore the research and science behind the practice, and discover how its implementation supports both personal wellbeing and professional effectiveness.
Mandy will lead this introductory 30-minute microlearning session by focusing on the clinician’s own experience with mindfulness through simple, accessible exercises that can be integrated into daily life. Participants will be encouraged to continue practicing the techniques introduced in Part 1 on their own and reflect on what feels helpful and what poses the biggest challenges. Part 2 will build on participants’ real-world experiences, offering a space for support, troubleshooting, and continued growth. Part 3 and Part 4 will explore how clinicians can take mindfulness beyond personal practice and integrate it into patient care.
Learning Objectives
After completing this continuing education activity, health care professionals will better be able to:
- Define mindfulness and describe its relevance in both personal self-care and professional clinical practice.
- Incorporate basic mindfulness techniques into daily routines and in clinical settings.
- Apply mindfulness when communicating and collaborating across interprofessional care teams
